Guessing with confidence isn't good enough.

Financial tools that read a ledger and a company's documents together tend to do one of two things: guess with confidence, or refuse to try. Coset is built to do neither: a citation for every figure it reports, and an honest refusal for every one it can't.

The rule is simple: nothing stated without where it came from.

Coset treats a company's ledger and its documents as one source of truth, and holds every number to the same standard an auditor would: traceable, or flagged as untraceable. That discipline isn't a feature added on top of the product. It's the reason the product exists at all.

The name
A subgroup, translated.

In group theory, a coset is a subgroup shifted to a new position, its internal structure fully preserved. Same shape, described from a different point of origin, which is what the product does to a company's numbers: reframe them, not alter them.

Where it's built
1924

Massachusetts Investors Trust, the first American mutual fund, opened on State Street. Boston has been keeping other people's records ever since, and Coset is built here for the same reason.

Before Coset
A pilot, then a pivot.

Adonay first ran a pilot with small businesses: real meetings, real integrations tested against Square and Toast, to see whether reasoning over ledger and document data held up. It did. The harder, more valuable version of that problem lives with mid-market and larger finance teams, which is who Coset is built for now.

Who's building it
A small, deliberate group.

Adonay runs Coset full time out of Boston, working alongside a technical collaborator (an MIT computer science graduate, now a principal data scientist building AI systems) and an operations bench for outreach, scheduling, and reconciliation.

No open roles right now.

When there's a real reason to hire, the roles will be posted here, scoped honestly, with nothing dressed up to look bigger than it is. If you want to build financial infrastructure that has to be right, not just convincing, the fastest way in is email: say what you'd want to work on.

  • Engineers who want real ownership, not a job posting
  • Finance people who see the gap this closes and want to help close it
  • Say why in the email, since a resume alone won't stand out here

Reach a person, not a form.

There's no ticket queue and no chatbot behind these addresses. General mail gets a direct reply for anything: a question, a demo, a job inquiry, a correction on something this site got wrong. Security reports are routed by subject only, so they never sit in a general queue.

Bring your books somewhere that shows its working.
